Ordinary Oddities

Terms of use

Updated

These terms apply to theordinaryoddities.com, run by Divex SRL (details on the Impressum page). By using the site you accept them. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to buy.

What the content is

Ordinary Oddities explains why everyday objects look and work the way they do. Articles are researched from the sources listed at the end of each one, and we correct mistakes as described in our editorial policy and on the corrections page. The narration in our videos is an AI-generated voice reading scripts we write and check ourselves.

The content is general information, written for curiosity. It is not professional advice. Some topics touch on safety (for example choking hazards, car parts or aircraft), but nothing here replaces the instructions of a manufacturer, a doctor, a mechanic or any other professional. Don't rely on an article to make a safety decision.

Who owns the content

The articles, illustrations, animations, thumbnails, the Ordinary Oddities name and logo are owned by Divex SRL unless stated otherwise. Quotations and material from the sources we cite belong to their owners.

You may:

  • link to any page;
  • quote short passages with a link to the page they come from;
  • share our videos using YouTube's own share and embed features.

You may not copy whole articles or illustrations, republish them, or use them to train or feed commercial AI systems, without our written permission. To ask, write to contact@theordinaryoddities.com.

Embedded videos are provided by YouTube, and YouTube's terms of service apply to them. We link to sources and other sites so you can check what we write. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, which can change after we've linked to it.

Responsibility

We take care to make the content accurate and to keep the site available, but we can't guarantee that every detail is complete, current or error-free, or that the site will always be online. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for damage resulting from the use of the site or its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. These terms are governed by the law of Romania, without depriving consumers of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where they live.
